The Royal Duchy was a named train in the 1950’s. It will probably be drawn by one of these engines:

• No. 34067 “Tangmere” unrebuilt ‘Battle of Britain’ class ‘Pacific’ 4-6-2, built at Brighton in 1947 by the SR.
• No. 70013 “Oliver Cromwell” Britannia class ‘Pacific’ 4-6-2, built at Crewe in 1951 to British Railways ‘standard’ design, and used on express passenger trains in East Anglia.

The Royal Duchy should be passing the Tally Ho southwards (towards Totnes and Plymouth) at about 11.30am and returning at about 7.30pm.
