Steam train The Royal Duchy goes past the Tally

46233 Duchess of SutherlandThe Royal Duchy was a named train in the 1950’s. It will be drawn by 46233 Duchess of Sutherland. 46233 is an LMS Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 “Pacific” steam engine, built in 1938 by Crewe Works. 46233 was built to haul fast express passenger services such as ‘The Royal Scot’ and ‘The Mid-Day Scot’ between London Euston and Glasgow Central as well as other expresses to Liverpool.

The Royal Duchy should be passing the Tally Ho southwards (towards Totnes and Plymouth) at about 12.10pm and returning at about 8.30pm.
