Steam train The Great Britain X goes past the Tally

The Great Britain X will be drawn by 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ and 34046 ‘Braunton’. Royal Scot was built in 1927 for the fastest trains on the London, Midland and Scottish railway (LMS). Braunton is a ‘Bulleid Pacific’ design express passenger engine, a member of the ‘West Country’ Class, built in 1946 at Brighton Works, and has currently been renamed as 34052 ‘Lord Dowding’ to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Great Britain X should be passing the Tally Ho southwards (towards Totnes and Plymouth) at about midday on Saturday 6th, and returning northwards (towards Newton Abbot) at about 12.35 on Sunday 7th.
