The South Devon branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) have voted the Tally Ho as runner up in this year’s Pub of the Year Competition!
Bob Southwell, chairman of South Devon CAMRA presented a certificate to Hollie and Chris on Tuesday 21st April. The Tally Ho re-opened just over a year ago on 28th March 2014, as South Devon’s first community owned pub. To have achieved recognition at this level so quickly is extraordinary and a great credit to all involved – particularly landlady Hollie Brockwell, chef Chris Webley, the management committee behind them, and the Tally Ho’s owners (over 160 of them to date).
Bob Southwell, Chairman of South Devon CAMRA said “Many congratulations on being the runner up as the Branch Pub of the Year which is a remarkable achievement given how recently the pub was reincarnated.”
Ray Elmore, secretary of South Devon CAMRA said “This is an incredible achievement given all the hard work put in over the last couple of years. Very very well done to everyone involved!!!”
Only pubs that are included in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide are eligible for the Pub of the Year competition, so this award also confirms that the Tally Ho will be included in the new edition of the Good Beer Guide.
