The crowds attending the Tally Ho Beer Fest at the beginning of August enjoyed unexpected sunshine. Good support was had from the Bays, Dartmoor, Hunters, New Lion and Platform5 breweries, with local musicians including Ladies What Lunch, Sean Hodder, Laura Fletcher, and the Jigsaw Barbershop Quartet keeping all entertained. Saturday night entertainment was provided by Moondog and the Moonfolk with pretty impressive rock n’ roll moves being demonstrated by some revellers. Others just enjoyed the warm evening and tasty food from the BBQ and kitchen. One visitor arrived by horse – a first for the Tally, it is thought. Thanks to all who supported the raffle – the proceeds covered the band and also a donation to clean up the war memorial in Littlehempston Church. Lots of pictures in this gallery:

On Tuesday 12th August we launched a new menu – full details on our Food page.
We’ve recently sent out certificates and claim forms to the first 72 members (shareholders) of Littlehempston Community Pub Limited (LCPL), to allow them to claim back 50% of their investment as tax rebates from HMRC. These rebates are under the government’s Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and apply to the first £150,000 worth of shares in LCPL. But our other shareholders haven’t missed out – we’ve submitted our first application under the Enterprise Investment Scheme and hope to be sending out certificates and claim forms to everyone else who has bought shares in LCPL up to the end of July. Those forms will let shareholders claim back 30% of their investment. And we’ve still got plenty of shares left at the moment – and they should all qualify for that 30% refund as a tax rebate too.
On Friday 15th August the Tally Ho went national with a letter in The Times:
